What preparing it yourself really costs
Technician time, analytical-grade salts, ultrapure water and the batches that fail QC, against our catalogue price. At low volume and in large batches, a laboratory that already owns the water and the balance often comes out ahead, and the model says so.
Fluid
Only the fluids a laboratory can realistically prepare from salts are listed. Tear fluid needs active lysozyme and the washer-disinfector soil is a defined proprietary formulation, so neither is a choice anyone actually has.
Your laboratory
Starting points, not benchmarks: change the ones you know.
The in-house column leaves out the ultrapure water system, the balance and pH meter and their calibration, instrument time for the QC check, and waste disposal. Include them and the figure rises. The purchase column is the catalogue price excluding VAT and carriage, and includes the batch certificate of analysis. Carriage is free above 150 EUR in France and 200 EUR elsewhere in the EU.
