Main Function & Applications
A defined, reproducible urine-like medium for calibrating and validating instruments, for training, forensic and odour work, and for absorbent-material R&D. Available in bulk for high-volume work. If your method is ISO 11948-1, read the note below before ordering: that standard does not use a synthetic urine.
User Sectors & Laboratories
- QC & diagnostics labs
- Forensic & training
- Superabsorbent (SAP) R&D
- Absorbent hygiene & incontinence
Good to know
ISO 11948-1 does not use a synthetic urine: clause 7 specifies a test liquid of sodium chloride at 9.0 g/L in grade 3 water, prepared at 23 ± 2 °C, with no urea and no creatinine, and one test consumes about 54 litres. Running this product under that method is a deviation you would have to declare in your report. Ask us for the 9 g/L test liquid, or for pre-weighed salt, if that is the method you are working to. This product is sold for QC, training, forensic and R&D use, where a defined urine-like medium is what you actually want.
Certificate of Analysis (CoA) & Traceability

Common questions about this product
What is Synthetic Urine, QC made of?
Synelys Biotech Synthetic Urine, QC is an aqueous solution of Jayco-type salts: NaCl, KCl, Na₂SO₄; ± urea, CaCl₂ (per variant); 0.9 % NaCl test liquid available separately: that is the one ISO 11948-1 specifies. It is the reference solution defined by Synthetic Urine · QC, made fresh to order in Toulouse, France and shipped with a Certificate of Analysis on every batch.
What pH is it supplied at, and can it be adjusted?
Synthetic Urine, QC is supplied at pH 6.0–6.4. A custom pH within the range the standard allows is available with no minimum order quantity. pH is verified batch by batch and the measured value appears on the Certificate of Analysis.
Is it hazardous to ship or store?
No. Synthetic Urine, QC is non-classified · non-ADR, so there is no dangerous-goods constraint on shipping. Store at 15–25 °C, no cold chain. Shelf life 6 months from manufacture · no preservative, and the limit is microbiological. Supplied in a HDPE bottle (PP cap), 20 L drum for absorbency campaigns. HS code for your purchase order: 3822.90.00.
How is Synthetic Urine · QC testing actually run?
